The EBH is a CHARESSO project. It gathers, verifies and publishes rigorous biographical entries, freely readable, in service of research, teaching and collective memory.
Our method
Every entry is dated, sourced and signed. Major claims are tied to a source; without evidence, they are not published. Submissions go through peer review, and nothing appears without the author's authorization.
Three languages
French, Haitian Creole and English are treated as equals. An entry may exist in one, two or three languages; each version is credited separately.
Access and reuse
Reading is free and will stay that way. The content remains 'all rights reserved': sharing and citation encouraged, full reproduction by permission, case by case.
